Not giving up

This is the face of determination, of pride, of intelligence. We are not giving up. Since we first learned of Fatma's case, things have gotten ever worse in her country. She is at greater risk than we can or want to imagine. She is our friend and this is unbearable. We have explored many options with less than encouraging results, but we will persist till we find a solution.

We are having another fundraiser on February 27 at the NEO center near Old Town.
We may have found a lawyer who can help us negotiate the emigration laws in Canada (if we can't have her family here, Canada is at least close enough to visit) and we need to raise funds to cover legal fees and a possible visit to the Canadian embassy to plead her case.

If anyone has a handle on immigration opportunities or connections, we are open to every avenue that would lead to safe and sustainable haven.
